My latest purchase, a card I've wanted for a long time...

I've been looking for a decently-centered version of this Hornsby in this grade for years. It didn't come cheap, but given recent comps, I think I paid a fair price.

    Congrats! Hornsby's stats are so fun to gaze at on baseball reference.

    I just looked at his stats on Baseball Reference. Seven batting titles, .358 lifetime BA. Yet, it took him five ballots before being elected to the Hall of Fame. In year three, he only got 17% of the vote. Wonder if he was disliked by many?

    Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
