Satin Touch

2009 was the last Philidelphia Satin SMS Roosevelt dime.
I saw this 2019P and thought let's see if the only case scenario involves removal doubling of the last zero, now a 1.
The 1 sees die retouching doubling and the 9 is also doubled.
I needed to find a reason this satin was here, when it is far from home.
The outward radiating lines near the rims are fully present on the obverse and reverse from sandblasting the dies.
We'll see...WHAT? What brought your attention...?

Since it retains its satin reverse, I'd like to think it's a test strike in which the next victim would be the 9, so as to be acceptable it would then be 2010. The 9 was next to be removed.
I also had to find a way to justify the satin reverse. Which did not have to be a necessity outside of an actual 2009 Roosevelt.

Satin Touch? Thought that place closed down years ago.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
You make Emerald look downright sane.

Pretty sure they are related.
I'm pretty sure you said that the this was once a 2011 dime and its been reworked to become a 2019?
This is some amazing work!
I have every reason to believe you are correct,, in fact I believe that all surplus 2011 dimes were converted to 2019's.
One at a time. By hand.
And sandblasted too.

Sometimes they are good, especially when taken with sleepytime applesauce.
