Today is the day of Guy Lafleur's funeral in Montreal by far he is one of the greatest hockey players who laced up a pair of skates to play the game he accomplished many feats during his career notabaly many Stanley cups Art Ross Trophies as the league MVP and other hardware as a junior he amassed 209 points in 62 games any Hab fan will fondly recall his tying goal against the Bruins in the '79 semi final it should be noted that Lafleur was drafted #1 overall for the upcoming selection of junior stars destined for the NHL but Guy was not the property of les Canadiens as yet Oakland Seals owned the rights to the first draft pick so "Trader" Sam Pollack the GM for the Canadiens made a deal to get Oakland 's draft pick to ensure that the Seals finished last in the league which automatically gets the nod for the #1 pick, Sam Pollack traded most of the Canadiens veteran stars to the other teams in the division that Oakland played in to ensure that they would win against the Seals and for them to finish last! I do have many Lafleur sets under the name "rocket52"
