What is melt value and purity of Japan 2 Bu 1860 for example?

Curious about the gold content and purity in the 2 Bu rectangles. Also curious about other Japan gold from mid to late 1800s

So let's see... by my reckoning, that would be:
    Gold: 5.62g x 0.209 x .0321507 toz/g = 0.03776 ounces, or US$70.27 at current gold spot.
    Silver: 5.62g x 0.791 x .0321507 toz/g = 0.1429 ounces, or US$3.23 at current silver spot.

Of course, you'd have to subtract the cost of actually separating those ingredients, which would probably be more than the $3 value of recovered silver. There's not much demand for pre-mixed .209 fine gold that's alloyed with silver.

Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.

Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD. B)
