Has a Topps Chrome or Refractor ever been counterfeited?

Has any Topps Chrome or Refractors ever been convincingly counterfeited? Seems like that would be very difficult to do. I have never heard of one. I would say that the only way to cheat on one of those is with a fake holder for a grade.

If it is convincingly counterfeited how would anyone know , except the counterfeiter.?
Convincingly.... At first glance. Or convincingly to a novice.

Let me rephrase.... Has anyone ever seen a counterfeit attempt?
Shane
I have seen many attempts via the reprint listings on facebook. See link below.

Got to hand it to the seller for at least calling it a reprint even though the slab doesn't say so. Still...... I hate any kind of reprint.... Official or counterfeit.

that looks like a fake slab. I mean ive seen a bunch of the GEM slabs on ebay and this one just looks a little different.
to answer the OP's question, there were a bunch of faked 1996 Topps Chrome Kobe's floating around ebay over the past few years. but they were easy to spot, notably the Topps Chrome logo.

There's a guy selling counterfeit slabs as movie props, made to order. I saw his ad on facebook, but basically, you tell him what card you want, what grade and he will make a fake slab with a fake flip and a fake card and sell it to you. Seems to me PSA would want to know this guys address and slap him with a lawsuit. In fact, I think thats what all these companies should do with the amount of "reprints" that are unauthorized
