My family went to Hot Springs Arkansas and in downtown Hot Springs National Park there is a mural by a drive-thru Bank that is just fantastic. I tried getting pictures of the whole wall but was unable to due to the Rain. The painting on the wall shows a ball being pitched and on the other end hitting the catcher's mitt. If you are ever in Hot Springs you definitely have to see this, it is beautiful. Hot springs back in the day was where spring training used to be for all the major league teams back in Babe Ruth's time.

You can go on the internet and look up the hot springs baseball Trail and find some more information on this area.

@thsistheshow Hot Springs has a lot of baseball history from the early spring training days. They've got a baseball trail that you can actually follow in your car and listen to on your iPhone. A lot of baseball history there that a lot of people have never thought about. I love baseball and this was just great to see even in the rain. This must have been completed just recently because we didn't see it there in 2019. We have a timeshare in Hot springs and try to go at least every 2 years.

We live 75 minutes from Hot Springs. It has a great downtown full of little shops. Hot springs massage parlors. A rich history of gangsters winter retreat before Florida was the in place. Al Capone loved the place. Oakland Parks horse racing and casino. Dinner boat tours. It’s an awesome weekend get away. Sometimes at 11 am Saturday the wife and I look at each other, let’s go!

@2duece we are a little over 3 hours away and we love going there whenever we can, at least once a year to our timeshare on Lake Hamilton. We love it, and you're right the downtown district in the National Park is super and all the baseball history is just unbelievable. Glad you like the photos and maybe you can check them out next time you're there.

Thanks for this thread JWP. I never knew this existed or the fact spring training was held here for all teams back in the Ruth era. I learn something new all the time on here!

During a spring Training Game in Hot Springs Arkansas Babe Ruth hit a 573 ft home run into an alligator farm where they today still have the plaque noting this accomplishment.
