Passed away today .. lung cancer . was going through a huge lots of cards bought from a 2nd hand shop ... approx 1000+ cards from 1963-1977.. pulled a small handful of lafleurs .
The early deaths of Bossy and Lafleur from lung cancer got me thinking...smoking in professional sports was pretty common in the 1970s. My guess is they both smoked (anecdotal...70s hockey, French Canadian, that's what you did)

Damn. I was just looking at his cards yesterday.
Late 60's and early to mid 70's non-sports

Along with Shutt, one of my first favorite Montreal favorites a lifetime ago. Tremendous offensive player. Elite skills.
The Montreal Canadiens are my favourite hockey team! The most exciting player this franchise has ever had. RIP Guy Lafleur. So proud to own this card
Awesome card
Absolutely one of the greatest ever !!!

Lafleur was known to be a chain smoker from what ive read during his playing days but it didnt seem to affect his hockey.
