The coin looks nice in hand. One of my favorite designs, what do you think?

Enthusiastic collector of British pre-decimal and Canadian decimal circulation coins.

Yes, a very pleasant coin and the one that starting me off on the later milled pre-decimal series. Watch out, it can be addicting!

I agree. Very simple, handsome design with low mintages.

The Wreath Crown series is a challenge.

Great piece. Some of the GV stuff can be surprisingly tough to find nice.

As time passes, it will be interesting to see how the surviving population in various states of preservation unfolds. Out of the group, the 1936 may end up being the winner

I have always wondered about these and they were my introduction to English milled predecimal coins - I believe I also started with a circulated 1933 and then built up from there. Top notch coins from 1932 and 1936 can be a challenge. One of the key areas on a non-cleaned coin is the middle obverse (cheek, mustache edge, jaw angle corner of beard and brow ridge).
The cheek is so often marked up, and IMHO not from bag marks or circulation but rather the leftovers of planchet preparation (or lack thereof) when this area is not fully struck up. Nevertheless a clean cheek is a difficult one on the wreaths, even on so-called proofs (because most of the post-1927s in fact ARE NOT) and the so-called Rocking Horse 1935 obverse; I recently bought at auction a currency NGC MS65+ as it was well preserved in this regard.
Well, sorry for the run-on but glad to share info on these Wreaths or other similar.
I kept a double set of currency and proof of each, and mine most certainly are for reasons I'll not go into now.
