Newp - First ancient coin

I went to the NH coin expo this morning this morning. I didn't find anything on my list for my gold type set. But fortunately I stopped to look at a couple of ancient coins, ended up having a nice conversation about tetradrachms, and came home with this one.

Can't get better than 5/5 right?

I always thought these were neat. I know very little about them but this one seems like a nice representative example. Probably won't branch out into ancients, but ok to have an owl in the collection! Kind of amazing that so many of these are kicking around after >2000 years.

You did well. If you’re going to get one ancient, this is it. The ‘strike’ thing on one of these is a bit ludicrous when Athena is never entirely on the flan, but at least yours has a complete nose.

Best of luck — in my own experience ancients are compelling (if a little addictive). Very nice first ancient coin example!
