Good quick identifier to Chinese Imperial reigns

I recently came into a small collection of fairly varied cash coins and was wondering if there was a quick identifier for reigns to help narrow down each coin. I know the Qing / Manchu fairly well, but not much before. Actual book references would be preferred.

The Calgary Coin site is great. However, for a good primer reference, I would recommend Chinese Cash Identification and Price Guide, by David Jen. Absolutely invaluable.
