eBay “Final Sale Option”

I just noticed that some eBay items featuring the new eBay Authenticity Guarantee have a “final sale policy.” This means that as long as the item passes authentication, the seller is immune from SNAD returns. This is the first I have heard about that. I am assuming the item would still be returnable if damaged?
Here is an example of such an item, and an announcement from a couple of years ago of the same policy specifically for watches:

The Final Sale aspect of the Authenticity Guarantee is one of the best features if you’re a Seller on eBay. Just get the card to CSG and once they agree it’s what you listed, it’s a Final Sale (assuming your listing says you don’t accept returns)
I can't believe it! Ebay did something positive for the seller! It's a miracle!

Wish they would do this with lower threshold than $500 or give the seller the option to pay a couple bucks. On $100-$200 cards, it would be worth it
This explains what Probstein was saying about items being kicked back by the authenticator based on condition issues they didn’t feel were properly described. If you are going to refuse SNAD returns, the item better be as described.
What potentially bothers me though is returns being refused for reasons of minor shipping damage. Will those still be allowed under these conditions?

They recently lowered the threshold to $350

The key here is that CSG has already confirmed the card you sold matches the description in your listing. And it is CSG that is shipping the card to the buyer. At that point, I'm not sure how eBay can hold the seller accountable and force the seller to take the return (assuming the seller states no returns).
That being said, if eBay does force the seller to take the return, at least it goes through a "confirmation" that the returned card is what was originally sold -- the buyer sends the card back to CSG to confirm the card matches the original card. This would prevent the buyer from sending back a different card (or a reprint) than what was sent to him.
CSG is guaranteeing what exactly? Authenticity? Alterations (like trimming) unless noted in auction description? Advertised Condition? If only Authenticity then the final sale provision leaves plenty of room for seller shenanigans. Isn't that what eBay allegedly sought to reduce?
Simply advertise a card as NM, gets NM money, but card is actually Good or Poor. CSG states Card is Authentic, final Sale - seller laughs. Seem to me this makes it easier to defraud a buyer than before. BTW stating to to look closer at the auction pics is a super shady seller/dealer cop-out line.

Guaranteeing that they eventually require full authentication “fee paid for by seller” for all high end cards….its the only logical way this plays out for the reasons you state….it’s a plan to make it mandatory that all high end cards are graded…..make that money baby….once that happens I bet grading fees go UP and not down…..
Can’t wait to get that card I bought 12 months after I pay for it….or can’t wait to sell that card in 12 months after I get it graded….
I would expect eBay to make a strategic acquisition of a grader at some point….prob sorry they didn’t buy psa….
And how will this stop a buyer from directly filing a chargeback with their credit card bank? Both eBay and PayPal "bail" and do nothing once the "third party" bank enters the scene. SNAD, who cares... changed mind, whatever... bank always sides with their customer. And who pays the chargeback fee and final value fee is still valid?.... the seller.
