I am looking to sell and/or trade this rare Leonardo da Vinci Italian 50,000 lire note. It’s been graded by PMG as VF 30.

If interested please message me.

I paid $250 for this so I am hoping to get $300.

No interest? Is my price too high or is there little interest in the note itself?

It’s definitely a very nice, impressive, interesting note to own. I looked it up in the CDN Banknote Book from my CDN Phone App. They show its MV at $140 VF and $550 Unc. Their Wholesale bid based on the $140 would be about $105. However since it’s a graded low pop note you should be able get more. Check it’s pop thru PMG and if low like single digit you should be able get more. I look at pop current grade and number higher.

In researching using PMG Cert verify it pop is 3 with 84 higher. Tough to locate. Me I would simply sell it cost plus. In addition I would look how John M of Trusted Traditions priced something similar. I consider him the expert on Cert WPM / plus it’s Pricing as he has a huge inventory. He has an impressive store on the beach FT Lauderdale. It is next to a neat restaurant I dined at. The table I had at the restaurant was a window location and the crowded beach side of the glass not 6 ft from me, his shop was to the lt of the restaurant. I was on a business trip out there doing a presentation on a cost accounting system to home office acctg staff. Hit the casinos too. Stick to your price. With its total graded of just 87 in VF and higher that note sure is a lot scarcer than 1/10 oz AGE huh? If had 250 in it I would not let it go for less than $300 if not more. Call John and see what he says. Heck he might pay more.

That’s who I bought my note from 5 years ago. I think I paid about $230 after tax and shipping.

Is it that no one here collects foreign currency or that this is too expensive?

I might try selling this at a local show but very few foreign currency dealers there. Don’t want to list it on eBay as I gave up eBay long ago - too much hassle.
