104 Psa-10 Nolan Ryan cards..why??

Why is it so hard to pass a PSA-10 1986 Nolan Ryan #100 card? I have a pristine one I bought in 86 when I was 11, put it in a collector book, and haven't touched it until 2022.

This is the Coin Q&A - might be better off posting in the Sports Memorabilia Forum.

But I'll take a stab at it...

Don't things like centering figure into a card's grade? Most cards probably start at less than 10 the moment they come off the production line.

Was the album of archival quality? 35 years is a long time for a card to remain in contact with unsafe materials.
