These next few games will be real interesting from a Lebron standpoint. He needs to play in at least two of the three left to qualify for the scoring title yet he sat in recent games where LA needed to win to qualify for the play-in.
If he plays to get that scoring title after sitting when the playoffs were on the line then he deserves all of the backlash that is surely going to come his way,IMO.
Its hard to fathom that coming into this season most oddsmakers had the Lakers with the best or second best odds to win the title.

Yes, that is quite the dilemma. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the concept of load management, especially when you are as close to the playoffs as Lakers were and Lebron sits??
I remember Stanton taking a day off in the playoffs for the Yanks a year or two ago.
My biggest question was in regard to Aaron Judge and the Covid mandate in new york which was going to stop him from playing half his games.
My question wasn't how it would impact the yankees or politics, it was, "If Judge sat 81 games due to covid, would he still take maintenance days off on the road??" Sounds silly, but guys took maintenance days off during the shortened covid season.
I honestly don't follow baseball at all but that Judge scenario sounds similar to Kyrie Irving with the Nets this season. If I ran a team and I had a a player in that situation who was only going to play part time due to covid I'd honestly just send them home.
The result of Kyrie missing over half of the season is Brooklyn currently sitting in the play-in tournament when they were the odds on favorite for the title heading into the season. There's a realistic chance that they could end up missing the playoffs like LA.

Here - I love reading this over and over again...............
"The Lakers have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. After falling 121-110 to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night at Footprint Center, the Lakers do not have a mathematical path to the postseason, as they can no longer catch the San Antonio Spurs for a spot in the play-in tournament."
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Lebron was out due to an injury. Haters going to hate though.

Its pretty sad when Anthony Davis "Street Clothes" Davis is willing to play hurt with the playoffs on the line while Lebron can't. Its pretty well documented that The King quit on this team weeks ago.
If Lebron is so hurt then he should just shut it down for these final few games seeing that the team has nothing to play for but I doubt that happens.

Lakers...................., their roster of handpicked OG stars that are injury prone,......................... not making the OFFS,................. and soon to be starting their summer vacation (in early spring),.................................. LOL (or better yet LMAO).
All of basketball (aghast at this premier, storied franchise having such a horrible 2021-2022 season), some shaking their heads, some laughing.
Priceless!!!!
This iteration of the Lakers shall not long stand; and me thinks that those who turn an eye to the coming post LBJ, AD and RW era are increasing in number at an accelerating pace.
Me also thinks that it is very likely that LBJ will choose to leave the Lakers and return to Cleveland for his "third act" as he decides how he wants to finish his career.
Why does anyone care about the Lakers? Seems odd. I haven't watched a Lakers game since 1988?.....The only thing that I know about them since then is that they had a guy named Kobe on the team and now a guy named LeBron.....who cares??! Long, long ago, the Lakers were the talk of the town.....the standard greeting back then was, "How about those Lakers?"......Now??.....no interest whatsoever! ......they could move to Fargo, North Dakota tomorrow and not many people in L.A. would give a flying rip!!!......I think the interest in the Lakers is because they are a SoCal team........everyone loves to hate L.A. So....they're a bunch of losers now????...Nobody around here cares.... But....HAPPY DAYS!! ....for all the people who really , down deep in their hearts wished they were living the California Dream!
Oh, well......the Rams are the real deal.......best team in the League by far.......eat you hearts out. REPEAT!
That franchise is pretty much doomed for the seeable future. They have no control of their draft picks until 2025.
Russell Westbrook, who was horrible this season making 44M,has a player option for 47M next season that makes him pretty much untradeable. Anthony Davis may be the only real movable asset other than Lebron and he's played a combined 76 games these past two seasons. Lebron has one more season on his contract but I'd be really surprised if he didn't find a trade out of LA this offseason.
