    Reggie Bush is another guy that comes to mind, I expected so much more from him in the NFL.

    @coolstanley I know you’re not including Bo Jackson as an underachiever? He was the greatest athlete of our time and maybe of all time. He had a hip replacement and went back and played baseball.
    He played football as an off season hobby.

    Maybe it was his hip that caused him to underachieve. If he was the greatest athlete then he would be in the HOF.

    Edited to add: if the thread was entitled Great athletes who didn't achieve all that was thought possible due to injury Bo would be a top answer. In my opinion, we are just arguing semantics here.
