Biggest underachiever of all time! Thank you sir for your help in making this thread a success, see @thisistheshow, I told you abandoned things have a way of redeeming themselves!
How about Johnny football?
Jamarcus Russel?
todd van poppel
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Underachiever or Overrated? Sometimes the hype is more than the potential an athlete really has.

He played football as an off season hobby.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
greg jeffries
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Maybe it was his hip that caused him to underachieve. If he was the greatest athlete then he would be in the HOF.

performance vs longevity, etc.
Edited to add: if the thread was entitled Great athletes who didn't achieve all that was thought possible due to injury Bo would be a top answer. In my opinion, we are just arguing semantics here.
