Deidre Pujols announced that she was undergoing brain surgery last week for a tumor.

I do not think his legacy will or should take a hit. This is a personal issue for Albert and there are factors involved that we may never know.
I don't think so. Marriage is a personal matter, but the optics sure look bad for Albert with the brain surgery. Once the season starts and he starts hitting home runs, this is all ancient news.

As another said, I am sure there are issues which we don't know.
I just googled him. Five kids, one with down syndrome, married 22 years.
I just celebrated 22 years. I know it is not always easy. But it's worth it.
Bottom line is, I hate to see another broken family. Maybe they will eventually re-marry.

Correct. Look at Big Papi. Just read an article in Boston Magazine,April 2022 issue, on the shooting. Within the article was exposed his mistress of many years in the D.R. She would only hook up with him during road games when not seeing him in the D.R. Even produced a son with her, David Andres, which he has flip/flopped on as to him being his son. Did not affect his HOF stature or popularity. Good article.

Me? I didn’t even think he was still playing, let alone care about his personal life. He is a Hof’er and was a great ball player nothing more nothing less 🤷♂️

It’s almost as ridiculous as being a 20 something year old getting ready for the NFL draft and getting engaged right before it.
It very well could be that he's trying to insulate some of his net worth from her future medical bills.
