US Mint allocation of silver for various products - Only 2 silver items available to buy/ship

Between last year and this year, it seems the U.S Mint has had a hard time getting silver for their ASEs. Now, it seems all their silver products are going dark, fairly quickly. In fact, it appears the ONLY silver available from the US Mint website right now, are the Presidential medals and the Coin and Chronicles Set - George Herbert Walker Bush.

Has this ever happened before?? You can pre-order a few items... I'm thinking the pre-order has nothing to do with flipper control, it's really that they don't have the silver.

Does anyone know if the mint has disclosed any sort of silver allocation to ensure all products they plan to make will be made? They did cancel the 2022 Morgan/Peace dollars due to silver shortages.

I'd be interested to know the answer myself. I buy several silver proof sets every year to fill my Dansco albums. I'm gonna be pissed if the mint doesn't offer them this year.

I never thought I'd see modern mint products that are grossly overpriced sell out this quickly. I remember in the 2000s it wasn't like this.

2022 Peace and Morgans postponed until next year not because of a silver shortage but because of supply chain issues, says silver planchet supplier.

Forum discussion on potential planchet shortage can be found here.

Forum discussion on demand/sellout on April 14 silver eagle proof release can be found here.

Looking at the projected sales numbers on the new ASE W proofs and the lack of interruption in bullion ASE availabilty from the mint, I'd say there is currently no shortage of metal. However, given ongoing supply chain issues and the effect of sanctions on most commodities I expect a sudden halt to US Mint PM products in the near future. Best to get your enrollments in for the remaining silver products if you still can. You can always reduce or remove your requested number up to two days prior to sale date. Note that advanced enrollment of silver proof sets takes affect in 2023. Who knows, your advanced enrollment might just snag you a very limited mintage.
