1914-D Lincoln Cent, Phony, maybe an altered 1914-S? (link included)

We saw one of these just a few days ago, the mint mark is in the wrong position for a genuine 14-D. Plus it looks deformed like possibly to alter an "S" mint mark?

Oh yeah, looks like metal was scraped from the surrounding surface to form the D mint mark - pretty tricky!

If the mintmark don't fit, you can't acquit.

    Just run.

I'm glad to see that the coin in the OP is no longer with us!

The mint mark isn't open enough.
