1991 Skybox PSA Grading Error (?)

Here is a letter I sent to PSA on the return of an order. Their response was predictable. To the effect ... "...we have multiple people look at each card..." Really? Did they read the contents of our letter? Comments?
"Card #57667702 is for a 1991 Skybox Team USA 1 that you returned to us as VG 3. The card is in excellent condition and the grade for this one card is unwarranted on those merits. However, this is 1 of 3 in the set. The other cards, which we did not submit complete a panorama of the Olympic Team (see attached, two images from the PSA website - Auction Prices Realized).
We can't help but wonder if the people that graded the card didn't know and simply thought it was off center..."

If it is a very high grade, they are not going to lower the grade to a 3 for being off-center. They may give it the MC qualifier though....which obviously in this case they didn't.
This card is NOT off center.
I didn't say it was off center. I'm just saying that they aren't going to lower the grade to a 3 for being oc. The scan is not great but the card appears to be mint. If they felt it was oc then it would have been lowered to maybe a 7. Yours is very blurry but that could be the scan. If it were mine I would send it for review.
You can't grade a card based on the scan. There's probably some problem with the surface.
Well the OP mentioned the card was “in excellent condition”
So does that mean PSA 5 EX - and it got 2 points deducted for being OC? (Even though it is not OC)
Or does “excellent condition” just mean how someone might describe a card if they aren’t into collecting?
Well, appreciate the feedback and comments. We're not a newcomers to the trade. We evaluate cards thoroughly prior to sending them in. We're liquidators but been at it for over 20 years. This grade is a mistake. Don't worry about the scan quality. Here's a photo. Color, edges, surface, centering, corners, etc. are at least NM.
It’s possible that it’s a mistake, but much more likely that you missed a crease or very slight paper loss. I’m betting on the latter, a small loss of paper on the back somewhere.
could it be a crease (PSA 5) then hit erroneously with a miscut qualifier down to a PSA 3?

Each person in this group has submitted a piece of cardboard after scrutinizing it six ways to Sunday only to get a grade half of which we deemed it worthy.
Mine was a Brett Mini RC. Prettiest thing you ever saw - until it came back a 4. Don't know why I drew the grader of death - but I did and George Brett did not deserve such a fate.
Sorry the GoD picked up your card. Live to fight another day I say.

Card is no use to you as is. Arguing with PSA is a total waste of time.
Crack it out and re-examine, looking for some kind of surface wrinkle. The last card I went ballistic over had a barely noticeable issue on the reverse.
If card looks fine, send it in again.
I've had a card go from 6 to 10 when cracked and resubmitted (4 points) which in my experience was a very exceptional mistake on the part of PSA.
Being off by 3 is also considerably rare for them.
Off by 2 - fair amount.
Off by 1 - most cards generally fall here, in that its a coin flip whether it goes one way or the other.
So yes they could have absolutely made a mistake. As mentioned by others I'd say they are likely picking up on some sort of wrinkle on the surface of the card on one side or the other.

Well, cracked open the case and located the problem. We missed a very small, slight crease near the lower left hand corner. Will request the card be withdrawn from the data base and figure out what to do from here out. Thank you to everyone that chimed in. See you down the line...
