USPS registered mail

Is there a difference in shipping times if one uses first class registered mail compared to priority registered mail? Because registered mail is handled differently than regular mail, it would be an interesting test to send two packages, one first class and the other priority to see if there is a difference in transit times.

I’ve sent packages both ways and there does not seem to be a difference. Each normally takes about ten working days.

Thoughts?

No difference in the time of arrival. If it's any type of Registered, it stays in the very slow registered mail stream

There is no difference at all.

No. The classification really only affects pricing structure.

Any package 13 ounces or more must go Priority instead of First Class. But the speed-limiting factor is the Registered Mail service. Under 13 ounces, you can select Priority or First Class, but there would be no difference in delivery time assuming it will be registered.

I just shipped a package to PCGS using priority register mail. I know first class registered and priority register are the same speed but I still used priority. I don’t know why.
