Seeing this (which I hadn’t seen when posting my original reply) I dislike the coin less, but I still don’t like the spotting on the obverse (it might be an attractive side without the spots) and I still am torn on the reverse where there’s some really nice color, and some dark areas that don’t do anything for me. On the whole what I wrote I still stand by, though I think the coin is a bit better based on the TV photos.

it is usually the reason i post so many tv, even when someone else has posted images, stellar or no. it gives a decent average usually of what one can expect a coin to look like in-hand.
i don't recall seeing many or really ANY peace that even begin to approach some of the premiums i've seen for morgan toners, mostly from LM auctions. 10x-20x what the ask for this coin is and those were hammer, not ask.
I assembled a set of Peace dollars and I started and finished it with all of them as white as I could so I never developed a taste for toned Peace dollars. If I had started with a toned example then I likely would've attempted to obtain all of them as such. There are people though that will drop the loot to buy such a coin for that price. IMHO there is no peace left in that coin and only rage.
For what it's worth, the coin has been listed a few times, and even here we don't know if it actually sold (off eBay, I presume) or the seller just took the listing down. A really nicely toned Peace in 66 could sell for well more, sure, but, at least to me, this isn't that higher priced coin.

But that’s two statements in one. First, Peace dollars with the same toning as a Morgan will sell for more because the color in a peace dollar is much rarer. However, the upper end of what toning Morgans can get far exceeds what Peace dollars can get, so the upper end of toned Morgans simply can’t be matched, and those coins can fetch a premium beyond what a lesser (albeit very nice) Peace dollar may command.

It's still for sale on eBay
I was just going on the listing linked here which said the seller ended it. I’ve seen it go up a few times but haven’t paid close enough attention to see if it was reloaded after this listing went down.

i concur and that was the point i was making but wasn't as clearly worded unless one has familiarity.

I do not find the toning on this particular one attractive at all. Especially the obverse.

Tom
While it's a little over baked it's a true rainbow. Too bad the rainbow is on the reverse. I'd buy it if I had that kind of money to spend.

Nope
The obverse ruins it for me.
