Board opinion please..

I have a 2001 Pujols topps traded chrome bgs 9.5. 2 10's and 2 9.5 subs. It looks like a 9.5 sales for around $1,000 or so. and a PSA 10 averages around $2,300. Would my bgs 9.5 be worth close to the PSA 10? I know that the subs help but I am not sure how much.

BGS 10 pop 8

BGS 9.5 with 2 10's and 2 9.5's pop 7 ( I counted them)

Your opinion is appreciated, thanks.

To collectors with Pujols acutely in mind I would say the double 10's will make a difference ... the BGS 9.5 in general is the weakness in terms of broader appeal..... I would consider a crossover if you have a discerning eye. If you have an engineering background I'd even consider a crack-out but that is highly risky and depends on your talent and confidence...

Pujols in a PSA 10 ultimately will sell for more than a straight BGS 9.5 even with 2 x10 subgrades. IMO.

Why don't you throw up a pic?

I don't think the subgrades will make up all of that ground between $1,000 and $2,300 - that is too big of a swing. Maybe $1,500 - $1,750? Sounds like a nice one though.

If you don't crack , but submit as a 9.5 BGS, you will never get a 10 from PSA. (mabe a 9) If you crack and submit , in this day and age at PSA , you cannot expect a 10 on a Pujols rookie. But to answer your question ...NO.

I would leave it alone......a PSA 9 is under $500

What are the 9.5 subs? Find out what knocked it down to 9.5 in those areas, if you find said issues and it looks like it's within tolerance of a PSA 10 then crack and sub it to PSA.

ex: if it has 9.5 corners and you can see a tiny touch on one of them, I wouldn't risk the crack and sub. If however all corners look sharp then you're good to go on that 9.5 subgrade, rinse and repeat for the other one.

I've had success in subbing 9.5 9.5 9.5 9.5 BGS cards and getting PSA 10's in return, but you still have to do the work and determine the issues causing the 9.5 grades.

This sounds like very good advice.
