1867 G$1 gold dollar PCGS MS60 OGH *Scarce low mintage of 5200* SOLD Thanks!
This is a really tough date to find in the gold dollar series. Unlike the low mintage gold dollars of the 1880's these were not saved and did circulate. Bowers estimates a survival rate in mint state of 75 to 110.
I have owned this coin for 27 years! It has some neat features, It has interesting die clashes on the obverse and reverse, with the reverse showing "Liberty" from the headdress distinctly below the date. The coin is highly proof like with several scattered small marks/hairlines. It has never been to CAC, but I am quite certain that it could "gold bean". It also would probably be given the PL designation if resubmitted, but that would mean losing the OGH, which I think is worth keeping.
All in all a neat example of a scarce type 3 gold dollar. PCGS price guide is $1450.
I cannot believe this has not sold!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
