That Jackie really pops! Issue on the back making it a 5?

Jackie
@NGS428 ....'58 Berra is a pop. 24 and I still think he is underrated by and large.... 10 x World Series Champ.... most ever in MLB and 3 x MVP...... The Jackie is sweet and I m not paying the huge money for a 8 or 9 ... ain't happenin'. So I am torn.
Well, a good problem to have! Yes, the Yogi is solid in its own right. You are talking about an underrated Yankee (didn’t know that was possible) vs a baseball icon. If you are paying 5 money for the Jackie, and from your view it is undergraded, you have a win there. You want the Yogi, but the Jackie is making it tough isn’t it. 😀

I don't think I can make a bad decision....

No problem. Happy for you! Amazing card!

i could not vote. i'd vote for yogi
Best looking PSA 5 I have ever seen for sure... at least appeal wise.
Yogi career .285 avg with 350 hr. And all the rings. What a stud.
Jackie once had 700+ plate appearances and batted .340. Wow.
Both cards are great, but I like your choice. Curious to see why it was graded so low.
I realize I am late to the party. It's hard to turn down a Yogi PSA9 but I really like the 55 because of the full length pose in addition to the face. I like the pose is after swinging the bat instead of waiting for the pitch.
I love the history!!!

I'd go with Jackie, but I really love the 1955 and 1956 Topps cards in general. They just have great eye appeal.
Are you paying a premium for a 5 for the Robinson? If you are paying the going rate for a 5 for the Robinson, I would go with that.
Jackie
Jackie but damn that Yogi card sizzles.
I have a ‘55 JR in PSA 5 and I swear it looks every bit a 7. The dealer I got it from sent it in to PSA recently and was expecting a 7 or better. Is PSA really hard on vintage now? ScoobyDoo2, if you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay? You can pm if you like. Love the card.
The Yogi, since I already have a PSA 6 '55 Jackie.
Steve
Jackie here by a country mile.
Was going to say the Berra due to centering and overall eye appeal, however it's a very early gen flip and I'd be scared of potential trimming. The Robinson in the post 2020 new flip is probably safer so I'll go with it.
It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
What is especially historical about a '55 Robinson? Completely see it if it were a '47 or '48.
This card https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-cards/singles-1940-1949-/1947-brooklyn-dodgers-picture-pack-jackie-robinson-psa-poor-1/a/70001-57168.s?type=DA-DMC-VCP-Sports-70001-03252023 has history.
Ahh… good point…. I love the player history…(not the card specific history!!)
Live long, and prosper.
1955 was the year the Brooklyn Dodgers finally defeated the Yankees for the World Series Championship. The only W.S. ring Jackie ever got, so I’d say it’s a historic year to have a card of him.
And 82FootballWax I was surprised to have to scroll so long to see someone mention the ancient flip. That would very likely be a factor in value determination.
Both cards are super, congrats on the Jackie!
