My 2 new 1930/31 Ethiopia 25 matonas coins off Ebay. This will complete my 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 montanas denomination set.

    In my experience the "5" is the scarcest denomination. Large hoards of the 10, 25 and 50 exist in the US. I saw the hoards in California back in 1978. Perhaps they have been broken up by now but they consisted of many, many coins.

    At my last Vegas coin show I saw (2) 5 montanas in better grade that I have shown here above from my favorite coin dealer, but I had reached my coin budget with 5 coins. I plan on buying the better 1 of the 2 coins next Vegas coin show in August 26-28th. Hopefully my dealer will have another show earlier during summer time. Fingers crossed here.

    I have seen the 1 and 5 montanas high grade on Ebay go for crazy high money $$$
