I could use some help on a signed Atlanta Hawks poster?

shawthershawther Posts: 284 ✭✭✭

I was wondering if someone could help me with figuring out the value and whether or not to get it authenticated. I thought something like this would be easy enough to find on eBay or google. Thank you.

I would say around $200. It needs two autographs to be complete.

Spud Webb signed it in the lower left corner, I believe it is only missing Kevin Willis. ETA, I see that you might possibly mean the assistant coach to the left and Willis.

Not a Hawks fan but pretty happy to find it. Wish it were complete with the signatures.

I tried in vain to find out who the assistant coaches were on that team on the internet but just now realized that their names are printed on the poster (duh!). The unsigned assistant coach Cazzie Russell is still alive but is nearing 78 years old, he was named an assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Flagler College in St. Augustine Florida two years ago and was still there as of January 2022. On a side note I would swear I confronted Kevin Willis in a black Mercedes as I was trying to turn left at an intersection in Buckhead Georgia back in the early nineties, he looked pretty intimidating. He owns a high end clothing and watch store in Buckhead Georgia named Willis & Walker so I imagine he still lives in the Atlanta area.

  • This is a really nice item and is somewhat rare. I agree you should try to get Cazzie Russell & Kevin Willis to sign it before it's too late, then get it authenticated. It will become more valuable, of course, as time goes on as the coaches pass on. Russell is arguably one of the top 25 players to ever play college basketball and I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually gets into the Naismith Basketball HOF at some point. There are others in the HOF already, who were not as good as Russell.

I never really though about getting the last 2 to sign the poster. I wonder how hard that would. I really appreciate the info on the 2 missing signatures, I wouldn’t have had a clue as to where to begin with that endeavor. I live in North Ga. so it isn’t out of the question to hunt these 2 down. If anyone has any other ideas, I’d love for you to share. Thanks again!

Update: I found Cazzie’s email on Flagler’s directory and have sent him an email. I will keep everyone up to date on what happens.
