Dallas Card Show (March 3-6) Photo Heavy
I attended the show yesterday & today. I heard Thursday was pretty slow as a lot of the dealers weren't even there. Most arrived Thursday night to attend Friday - Sunday. The show seemed to start out slow but by 2pm, there was lots of traffic. I saw a lot of people buying and seemed to be having a good time. Lots of kids too. Last time I attended was in October and this time around, I didn't see as many people lugging around pelican cases (which was actually nice). Cash was certainly flowing, and people were buying and trading. I would say that at least 80% is modern and the other 20 is vintage. You will find graded cards from all of today's companies, not just the big three (PSA, Beckett, JSA). Lots of SGC amongst others but PSA is still king as EVERYTHING is compared to PSA grades.
As far as pickups, I only went for one thing and was able to find a copy I liked. Kobe Bryant's 1996 Topps RC PSA 10.

great cards i bet you had fun day looking at all of those cards. i would like to go to a big card show again. thank you for showing the pictures.
This is a very odd display. Is the intended message "Don't buy this card. It's common as dirt."
Question: is that typical of card shows? I haven't been to one in 30 years. Coin shows are the exact opposite. Most of the big business would have been done by noon Thursday and the big dealers gone by noon Saturday if they stayed anywhere near that long.
This has to be one of the best show reports ever. The pictures were really great!! Last time
I was at show that big was early 90's National in Chicago. The T-206 are my favorites. Was there
much pre 80's unopened? Thanks again.
I don’t think you get the same dealer to dealer high end transactions in sports, like you do with coins.

I always love posts like this of people going to shows and posting a ton of pics. Well done!

Whenever I see pictures of shows like this or The National I realize there is no shortage of Vintage or Modern material. Just the funds to purchase them.
Why is that? Margins? I mean if I have a customer at retail why wouldn't I buy from you at wholesale? What am I missing?
Did you happen to get a price on that PSA 2 1952 Mantle? The centering is amazing.
Not saying it doesn't happen, but I don't think the 'having a customer at retail' is common for most dealers in sports. Most card dealers need the walk-in customer at shows to make a profitable weekend.

@Vagabond ... thank you for the comprehensive experience share!
I did not but I am sure he was asking more than the last sales. He had I believe a total of 7 of them at his table along with Ruths, Jackies, 51 Bowman Mantles, & Mays + more.
As long as it doesn't say "I love Margo."
