Two greatest forwards ever to play the game played on the same line.
Each game ended 6-5. Canada won series 2-1
Gretzky leading scorer with 21 points but a -2
Lemieux second with 18 points but a +5 and he was four years younger than Wayne.
Anyone else see it ? I was 22 years old and saw it live on tv. Best hockey I ever saw.
Wonder what Mario’s point totals would be if he had Messier. Coffey. Anderson. Kurri.

@Goldenage Welcome Back
It was beautiful hockey.
FWIW I've been to many Stanley Cup games with the Wings. However, it didn't compare to these two events
1996 World Cup USA vs Russia at MSG. 10,000 American fans and 10,000 Russian fans. The intensity on the ice and in the stands was over the top.
1998 Frozen Four. Michigan, Ohio State, Boston College and Boston U in Boston. Michigan won the Finals in OT. I've never yelled so hard. It was also the hardest ticket to get.
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
1996 game was incredible. I was yelling in my living room. Intensity came through the tv and into the room.
Didn’t see the other one.
1996 WC Rosters
Richter was unreal.

Derain Hatcher, as bad as a skater as he was, was in my opinion the best defense man against Canada in the final.
I saw him all the time in south Jersey where he coached his son. Keith Primeau coached his son Cayden there also. My son played at the same rink.
