    My favorite hole is the 6th.

    Golf behemoth Bryson DeChambeau has lit up the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational with an incredible 370-yard (338m) drive over the water.

    DeChambeau arrived at the sixth tee at Bay Hill confronted by a vast pond and made clear that he was going to launch a bomb.

    After a few aggressive practice swings and setting his stance on an ultra-risky line towards the green, he crushed the ball and threw his hands in the air as the crowd erupted. He threw them up again in triumph as it became clear the ball had landed safely, within pitching distance of the green on the 531-yard (486m) par-five.

    By taking such an astonishing line to the hole on the extreme dog-leg, DeChambeau was left with just 70 yards (64m) to the green. It was the longest drive on the hole for 18 years, according to the PGA Tour, leaving his club at about 315km/h and carrying about 345 yards (315m).

    DeChambeau, the reigning US Open champion, is near the top of the leaderboard amid the third round.

    Remarkably, he called the shot back in January in an interview with GOLF.com.

    "If I play this year, I will definitely do it," he said. "No.6 at Bay Hill is one of those I've been eyeing. I think I can do some pretty cool things on it."

    The American became a controversial figure on the PGA Tour after drastically increasing his muscle mass from late-2019 onwards, allowing him to gain extraordinary distance off the tee.

    It reaped his first major title last year and he is still wowing the game with his massive driving.

    Glad for Scotty as well. I had a few $ on Kirk. When Woodland Eagled on 16 I thought he was in. Tough greens and so many errant shots in bunkers, rough on Sunday etc.

    rory flamed out after the first round, but he played well enough on my behalf

    and over on the champs tour, i caught one on the screws with the goose
