Voucher Submission and Varieties

This is my first time submitting to PCGS, I've done it a few time ATS but this is a whole different form than over there. I am going to do a voucher submission to save some money (as a YN every dollar counts lol). I wanted to know if I could still add on a variety to the voucher, as long as I pay the extra fee. I read it as that the voucher does not cover a variety, but I don't see a problem as long as I pay the extra fee to add on the variety. Does anyone have any info on this?
And one last question- voucher submissions are automatically Gold Shield right? Thanks!

I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think you can do variety submissions with vouchers. I was never able to, as I recall. What variety are you sending?

I was thinking of sending a 1938 Proof 5c FS-403. I'm ok with not having the variety right now as I don't plan on selling it, it would just be nice if I could have it.

Pics? I have a few of the 403 still, but no attributed extras. There are a few different ribbons for 1939, 1940, and 42 T2 also.

No, it is not automatic.

You determine the "Service Group" in box #3 of the submission form (i.e., "Standard" vs "Gold Shield").

@MetroD Then I guess the question is do I have to pay extra for Gold Shield and TrueView then or do I just select Gold Shield and not pay any extra?

I think you’ll have to use the voucher for express or regular submission only, not global and not varieties etc
The easiest thing to do is use the online submission for NOT THE PDF. It should let you do the attribution. You will have to pay for the attribution.
Gold Shield, which includes TrueView, is covered by the voucher (i.e., there is no extra charge).
Just be sure to select "Service Group" = "Gold Shield" in box #3 of the submission form.
On your first question, it has been a while since I tried this with a voucher and First Strike. IIRC, it "worked" (i.e., the voucher covered the grading fee, and I had to pay for the add-on service). Like I said, it has been a while. You might want to call customer service and confirm prior to submitting.
I believe that the voucher covers the "Regular" service level with a max coin value of $2,500.00, not the "Express" service level.

Yes, you can add Variety to the submission. You just have to select it and pay the $18 Variety fee. I just used my latest voucher last Friday with three coins getting Variety and one not. And I have done it in the past. No question.

Yes! My first submission included two die marriage attributions that I paid extra for.
