Nice To See People Buying The Card

It's always nice to see eye appeal and sheer card quality trumping sticker grade, and that dynamic was on noteworthy display at Heritage last night. Just thought it worthy of hanging a lantern on how this 5 was pursued much more hotly than a 5.5 — and by quite a wide margin. This is by no means a novel occurrence these days— a special PSA 3 of the 52T Mantle went for $162,000 a little ways back— but this was heartening to see last night if you subscribe to the "Buy The Card" philosophy.

(For clarification, these prices are before buyer's premium of 20%, in other words the 5 went for $204,000.)

Both have good eye appeal. The 5.5 has a slight tilt - for me tilt is always bothersome. The 5 is acceptable centering for my eye on just about any card! For some reason having more border to the right on the Mantle looks better than more border to the left.

Honestly I see more tilt on the 5 in the OPs examples.

I agree more tilt on the 5 but based on the small photos the OP posted (and not seeing the backs). I prefer the 5 anyway.
