Got too much time on your hands? Wanna win a free PCGS Mint State coin from the early 20th century, worth $88 according to Numismedia?
Refer to the main thread on the Giveaway forum for details. Basically, I am putting up pictures of my old 1798-2000 nongold US type set (from before my Registry collecting days). The first person to "collect" all these pictures (or the data from them) wins the giveaway coin, which will be one of the coins in the "virtual" type set. (I'm not telling which coin it is yet, but I left some clues on the original Giveaway Forum thread).
You need no knowledge of type coins to play the game, though such knowledge can't hurt. There are no strings here; this is purely for fun. Here are some of the "virtual" coins to start off your "collection". Since this is the PCGS Set Registry message board, I'll show some of the PCGS virtual coins, all from my old type set. (Not all the coins in the set were PCGS, and they are from my smaller-budget days, so not all are especially high grade). Hunt for more pictures on the forums, or request some more via PM in the main giveaway thread. These pictures are like "trading cards" and can be swapped and shared with other members to complete the entire "virtual" set.
Here we go: just a sampling of the first 24 types. More will follow:
