I am just getting into ancient coins (bible period) I have bough a few coins as of right now, all ngc slabbed with pictures to verify on NGC.. Is this going to protect me from fakes since they are slabbed and match the photos that NGC has on their website? I know nothing is foolproof but..will this help? They do not slab fakes correct?

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for first loving us.

Yes. That is pretty much the reason you would slab ancients, especially from the Holy Land - there are lots of fakes. They don’t guarantee it but they are experts and won’t knowingly slab fakes.

Although you are actually just as protected, if not more so, if you buy from one of the main auction houses or dealers (like CNG). They are also experts (if not more so if they are specialists in the type) and will give you all your money back if it’s fake.

Yea if your buying rare expensive coins especially ancients it would be best to buy them slabbed.
