What service level was this - regular?

And, more interesting - what did you send in???

Just dropped off 7 at the Long Beach coin show
PCGS told me 50 working days!
That is estimated for regular service. Expect longer by my experience.
My last submission took 2 1/2 calendar months!

I would expect average 3 months turn around time for economy.

I have just hit the 3 months time period. However one of mine is a pattern that is not catalogued although locatable on internet searches; it seems to be holding the others back.

  • I have 4 economy subs and one regular (all world coins) received by PCGS December 1/2, 2021 and the four economies are still in grading and the one regular is only in encapsulation. over 60 business days for all of them.

Don't feel bad. Nothing of mine has moved in over a month.

I’m at 6 weeks in “Received.”

Once they get to grading do things move or is it another slog?

My one order (above) has been in Encapsulation for 2.5 months. It got there in late December.

Mine "In Process" since December 2 (1921).....Yikes. Now Baltimore is coming up AGAIN and none back from the last drop on November 20......Is it true that NGC is worse?

    I’ll let you know in a few months…. ;)

I can say, however, PMG is not backed up, so rather than submit coins, I think I’ll submit my banknotes this year.

Mine is in “grading” after a couple days

I had this happen before and noted that although they did not say is much, on that occasion the coins evidently were sent to one of the foremost milled pre-decimal experts. I hope that did not happen this time(well the coin was not English!). I guess that it is just a bit frustrating and I am sitting on a number of coins that likely should be slabbed for their own good & likely would put various sets up the Registry ranks if I chose - I just don't want to wait 6 months and have the anxiety of irreplaceable coins that don't have great value compared to USA counterparts out there somewhere in the netherworld.

I have a US coin submission with only one coin. It was received on 1/15 and it stay on grading for more than two months. One order was received also on 1/15 with grade ready, one in encapsulation for two weeks now. Slowly making progress.

  • jt88jt88 Posts: 3,035 ✭✭✭✭✭

One of my 1/15 order shipped today. I still have 5 orders are waiting. I am thinking to send in three more orders next week then wait for PCGS return to normal to send more.

Ah, us crybabies! I dropped mine at Baltimore a mere 119 days ago and here comes the next Baltimore show.....I am kind of itching to blow away some of the Registry sets for GB but this has slowed my ardor.
