1996 Cowboybilia set

This is a set I started collecting when it was released. My first pack I bought at the Dallas Cowboy pro shop at Texas Stadium after the Cowboys beat the Packers on Monday Night Football and hit a John Jett auto helmet redemption. I was hooked and went through three or four boxes that year trying to build the set. I was able to get all but the big three. For years I had the cards in a frame on display and way too late realized most of the autos had faded.

So I started over.

I started picking up cards here and there on eBay and then at a show last year found two boxes and opened them. I’m almost back to where I was in 1996.

I’ve got quite a few dupes to trade if anyone has extras they’d like to swap.

I picked up the Mark Tuinei today which has been a tough one to find. That puts me 6 away from the set. If anyone is looking to trade for my needs let me know.

I love this set! At some point I'm going to work on it, but I have too many unfinished projects going already.

I'm surprised the Tuinei was the tuff one. I opened around 8 boxes and he's the one I had the most of at 4. He's also the only one I have dups from your list (may want to remove that).

I pulled him back in 1996 when I first started opening these, but it's been tough to find the last few years once I started rebuilding this set. Opened two boxes last year with no luck, so I was happy to have found an affordable option on eBay.

The Tuinei was one of the last ones I picked up for my set. I have them all, but need to have Aikman and Irvin sign those two at some point. It's a great set commemorating a great team!

Picked up another one for the set. This is also one I’ve never had before and a card I’ve chased for a long time. Glad to add Moose to the collection.

Picked up the Jason Garrett this week to get me to 21 of 25 on this set. Just need the Jay Novacek and then that will leave to big 3. Trade list has been updated.

Something drew me to the Staubach/Pearson card when these were issued and I bought one. Sure glad I did. Sorry to share that, with no offer, but it is not for sale/trade. Good luck on finishing the set.

A little bit closer. Added the unsigned Aikman to the set today. Supposedly Collectors Edge couldn’t reach an agreement with Aikman So they released the card unsigned. Now just need three to finish the 1-25 set and four with the Hail Mary card included.

I’m now just two away. After a few misses, I finally was able to land the Jay Novacek. Now just down to Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin.

Congrats! If you can get to a show where Michael is signing, it'll save you a lot of money getting him to sign the card in person vs. buying one already signed. He was recently in Chantilly and I got him to sign mine for $150. Some shows will also let you mail in for a signature as well in the event you can't get to a show where he's signing...
