Floyd to Expos, Dempster to Reds

The Marlins sent Floyd, a power-hitting outfielder, and minor league right-hander Claudio Vargas to the Expos -- rumored to be in their final season of play -- for pitchers Carl Pavano and Graeme Lloyd and a pair of minor leagues.

Dempster, the winningest pitcher in Marlins' history, was dealt to the Reds for outfielder Juan Encarnacion.

I seen that one coming. I thought that Cliff Floyd didn't want to go back and play on turf? Remember he started his career off in Montreal and he had knee problems. I'm surprised he's going back. Well, it won't matter anyway...Braves will continue to beat up on the Expos like we did today 8-5...and it won't be any different after they get Floyd...image
  • Floyd's actually excited to come back, he's just uncomfortable playin on turf. He said if the Expos are still around next year, he'll give them every opportunity to re-sign him. image I just wish we could have got Dempster too. Oh well, El Duque on his way here???

Chad, I'm not sure about El DOO DOO...but have you heard any rumors about Atlanta getting anyone? I'm sure they'll make a move or two before the deadline.
  • I heard Floyd was going to Atlanta if the deal with the Expos didn't work out. Have you seen Braves.net Good site for your braves, rumors and whatnot. image

I'd rather have Mike Sweeney! image Could you imagine the Braves with Sweeeney! Too bad he's gonna be staying in Kansas City...

Nope, but I'll check out that site. Thanks...
  • Sweeney wouldn't be bad at all, what about gettin Klesko back?

Definitely! Sweeney leads the majors with a .361 batting average, not to mention he's a great defensive player. Yeah, having Klesko back would be amazing. I always liked Klesko and was sorta p!ssed when we traded him...but ah well, life goes on.
