Reminds me of a few Canadian cents, where the engraver tried to make letter or number repairs in the working die with a manual punch and accidently used a punch of a smaller font.

Hard to tell.
Looking at the TV at high resolution it does appear to be a re-cut 5. So, a 5/5 variety.

Like Bosox, I don't think it's a recut. The guy just smacked his hammer on a smaller font 5 punch. So yes, it's a 5/5. Nice find.
