I read the write-up on ESPN.com. https://espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/33254989/former-mlb-player-jeremy-giambi-dies-47
Is this a typical death for a steroid user?
R.I.P. Way too young.

Sadly, it appears it was a mental health issue that lead to his death.

That's just terrible.
Successful Trades: Swampboy,
Jeremy was the player in Moneyball that they took a risk on even with his gambling, drinking and drug issues. Sad part of this story is the league and his family knew it years ago and no one helped the guy.
RIP
Man, that scene is so incredibly frustrating to watch. There's all this build-up to needing to replace Jason Giambi, blah blah blah. And the conclusion is that they need to go out and get his brother Jeremy.
Except...
Jeremy was already on the team. And had been for 2 years. The movie is built around getting ready for the 2002 season. Jeremy joined the A's in 2000. Heck, they got rid of him in May of 2002.
