Legit or are a TON of people about to get ripped off?

This eBay store went from selling $8-15 items on average to dropping the most insane number of sports cards - in the thousands. Tons of Jordan RC's, Jeter SP PSA 9, 2nd year Jordan 10's, Brady RC's and pretty much everything else that's high dollar that you can think of.

They have great feedback of over 500 but what seems suspicious to me is that they is reusing photos from Probstein and others and it appears as there is no same background in his photo listings. They are all over the place. Second is that they are all scheduled to end at the same time and third, they have tons of the same copies of high-end cards.

Is this person gearing up to cash out and close shop? They have a lot of feedback that they built up, but I didn't see anything in their past sales on this level. See for yourself.

Has anyone dealt with this person before? They are listed in the UK.

Damn how long did it take to put this together. I noticed on a couple of Gretzky cards in the listing it notes how much they will take for the item straight away.

    Always buying Gretzky PSA Graded

Need some 2007 A&G Regular Back Mini's PM if you have any and I will send my needs list.

The seller is listed in the UK but put Los Angeles for their item locations. He currently has a 1971 OPC set up for sale that uses the stock photos that were from an actual legit 1971 OPC set sale in December. I know the guy who purchased this set in December and he still has it in his possession. This seller eddiesrecords does not own this 1971 set that he is trying to sell. I reported the item to eBay.

All of the listings are gone except for the records.

One of my saved searches is "2000 Bowman Chrome Tom Brady PSA" and I saw at least three dozen new listings, all starting at $1.00, listed by this seller. I reported a couple, but wasn't about to go through all of them. I noticed they were eventually removed. I've seen this happen before with other sellers. Multiples of the same type of card, different cert numbers, and different photo methods. I hate that this keeps happening, but nothing we can do except keep reporting them.

So, I've learned that some accounts from the UK get "hacked" and eBay take about a day or two to delete the items. I guess it's a normal thing now - eBay accounts getting hacked. Seeing it was a new thing for me. Great - one more thing to have to worry about now lol

I had seen the same listings -- and in the description was a BIN Amount they would accept if you contacted them to buy at the amount. I was tempted on a couple of cards, but then thought it had to be a scam. I can't wait for eBay to expand their "Authentication Guarantee" program to include graded cards.

I doubt it would have gotten that far, at least if I understand the scam.

This is a known scammer. They hack legit accounts and dump the same stolen images on there and ask people to contact them outside of eBay. This has happened at least 10+ times over the last month and always the same cards. You'll see them again. The fact they keep doing it goes to show that the same type of idiots that buy ungraded 1986 Fleer Basketball packs on eBay are probably contacting these people and attempting to buy cards from them.

This is true. Happened to me 4-5 years ago. Hacked my account and listed a ton of electronics for sale for super low prices. I picked up on it pretty quickly and got in touch with ebay who took care of it.

  • Good to know. Thanks for the heads up
