I realize there are only a few fans here for the sport. For those few of us that are interested, what do you think of this event taking place within the confines of the historic LA Coliseum? I will tune in to see how it plays out.

I will be there for sure.

I'm having a hard time picturing it in my mind. The floor of the Coliseum doesn't seem big enough for a race car event. What do I know?

Should be a fun race and it starts at 3PM eastern time.

Looks like the cars are barely moving :)

Nascar put on quite an show with that race at the coliseum in LA.
It is hard to believe they are going to tear up the track in the next couple of weeks and put the field back to the way it was. Two weeks Nascar will be in Datona for a completely different kind of racing on a high speed oval.
I really enjoy todays race even if the track was the shortest since 1973.

My observation was this set up was done not only to show a new look for NASCAR and to expand the market more, but to get the bugs out of the new cars in a slower paced qualifiers/race. Less risk for serious damage. Then spend the next few weeks working on any bugs. On to Daytona and looking forward to it.

    Never again

It didn’t seem like a race but a fight for the front at the start - necessary because there was little passability

I could have done without the rap band.

Ty Dillion was fun to watch, he made lots of friends yesterday.

Nascrap had the LA Elite audience 20 years ago. It was the hot thing to do. Nascrap thinking this was the new in thing went away from it roots. Expanded tracks to seat 100,000. Luxury boxes, changed tracks from historic southern tracks. Just like American Chopper, the Hollywood elite tired of it soon after. The lost a lot of their hard core supporters, I am one. Try as they might they’ll never have the appeal again as they once had.
I’d rather watch a World of Outlaws sprint race, go in the pits afterwards, talk to the drivers and support them with a T-shirt purchase.
The series and most of the drivers forgot where they came from, the dirt short tracks of old.
Guys like Kyle Larson, Tony Stewart and the like never forgot. Too few in my opinion.

I have to admit, NASCAR isn't what it used to be back in the day of the good ol' boys, Cale Yarborough, Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Darrell Waltrip, Tim Richmond, Davey Allison, Bobby Allison, etc. Those days are long gone, and they're never coming back. I couldn't even tell you who the current defending cup champion is.

I didnt care for the music either.
It should have been country as the roots of Nasdac was and the track was ridiculous inside the small confines.
The cost must have been high to build that track and to then tear it down but the powers to be felt it was worth it.
I wonder how many people watched it as opposed to watching the pro bowl or the olympics which were also on yesterday.
I watched the whole thigh myself.
I was curious as to how many watched each of the sports.

I would switch over to the probowl every now and then but every time was a commercial playing. So it was really between the "Race" and Golf yesterday. And I haven't watched a lick of the olympics..........

I'd like to see a few races a year with the old cars from the 60's, a retro look. A tribute to the good ole boys who built the sport. And one race a year on Day. Beach.

They’d really have to restrict speed for safety. The older cars aren’t as safe.

They really can't race the old cars on the track bt I can see why you would like to see them. I remember them as at a time we did not even use seat belts in cars. I remember buying a set of seat belts for my 57 chevy I had back then and installing them.
I too have not and will not watch a minute of the olympics. It is all just a fake show china is putting on.
