Looks like heat damage.
I agree with heat damage, which also warped the coin it appears. Looks like someone may have hit it with a welder. People enjoy doing that for some reason.

I'm leaning with heat damage also.
Try to match the color of the image with the subject. (In other words just give more light and focus in the damage lol. )
