Early American copper is at its most desirable when the color is even, light brown with no spots or verdrigris (the green stuff in the reverse of the 1848 large cent).
Looks like a decent original AU50 example.
The green is minimal, and most likely could be removed with a rose thorn/equivalent.
I don't know if I would try acetone (first) or Blue Ribbon, unless you see evidence of PVC or other
haze on the surfaces.
Bear in mind that many of the "perfect" circ large cents were similarly treated by someone, somewhere along the line, to get them this way.
