The profile appears to be machine doubling.
The hair tie ribbon will show doubling even on a low grade 1916 DDO , yours doesn't show it.

Is this machine doubling or is the real 1916 ddo Buffalo Nickel?
In the future, try to include pics of who!e coin obv and rev. This coin looks really beat up and the profile is showing md, IMO. The hunt continues. Peace Roy
