Questions about the PCGS Members Only Show Wednesday, January 26 to Friday, January 28, 2022 .

Can you bring coins to be graded ? Will the coins be left with PCGS and then returned via mail after being graded. Will there be a line to drop your coins off or is this a easy quick process. Can you use your 8 free grading plus can you bring additional coins and pay on site ? What ID do you need to enter, you need your PCGS number or do they look it up.. And any other good information should I attend the show.

For on site grading, vouchers can't be used (see price differences on the pricing page), if you want to submit them for later grading, then they can for the things you can use vouchers for (can't for tokens for example as I found out). If you have vouchers, you have a PCGS member number that you can record and bring with you so why would they need to look it up for you?
Best, SH
I went to one roughly 10 years ago. I submitted coins for regular grading (they took back to PCGS and sent them to me when done). There was not a large line because it was not a large show, roughly 35 tables. I can not remember but might have renewed my membership there. I got a neckstrap with PCGS logo, they filled out a card with my name to hang from that. I looked at coins for a couple hours, had some food (there was a buffet just sitting there), and listened to a talk by David Hall about the 'collectibles market'. He recommended a book 'The Billionaire's Vinegar: The Mystery of the World's Most Expensive Bottle of Wine'. The book is about fraud and adulteration in the wine collectible market. The hours I was there, it seemed like there were more dealers doing business amongst themselves than collectors. It was a nice show with some fancy coins and there was plenty of opportunity to talk with the dealers there.
Things have probably changed since then, and now covid so Las Vegas traffic is probably down.
It’s about the same as described above.
There is a registration desk out front so if you don’t know your number they will look it up.
You can submit coins for show grading or drop off coins for PCGS to take back to Ca.
Usually the line to submit coins is shorter than a large show like Long Beach but depends on when you get there.
Many of the dealers that have tables don’t display coins. Some aren’t there to deal with the public at all
If you ask, many of the dealers will have boxes of coins you can go through.
Usually by Friday lots of the dealers who went for onsite grading are packed up.
Usually a pretty good little spread of food at lunch.
Definitely different than most shows you will attend.
Even with COVID Las Vegas is getting crowded again.

Those on site grading fees are pretty high so it’s really for the high value stuff - not recommended for a bullion ASE hoping for a MS70 ...
While this is called a members only show my impression is that it's really a dealer and whale show from the show reports that I have read. That is not to imply that PCGS collectors are not able to go just that the "show" portion is mostly for dealer to dealer transactions, getting coins show graded outside of a major show, and working with a few big customers/purchases. I personally have never been as I said just my impression from the reports I have read.
Let us know your experience if you do go.
