Anyone ever dealt with Key Date Coins, Inc.
I was on Auctionzip and came across their auctions. I was looking at the auctions and they have very nice pics and coins but when you click on them most are graded by SEGS. Anyone heard of this grading company?

Yes. I've heard of SEGS. I will say no more.
That said, if you want to know about SEGS why are you asking about Key Date Coins?
They are offering the coins by SEGS and wanted to know if they were a reputable co.
Successful Trades: Swampboy,
SEGS Inc. or SEGS LLC? They are different companies (according to LLC) and do not guarantee Inc. coins. If your coin was graded and shipped Friday, on Monday you were SOL. Even though it was the same address, phone number, and people. Left a bad taste.

I have dealt with Keydates even thou it has been a few years. When i was watching their own auctions the coins were graded by USCG which i am sure is a in house grading company that has no guarantee of anything. The majority of their coins are way over graded which is not a surprise. If you are patient enough and do your own grading you might find a coin or two worth buying but most are duds.
His pics of the coins are really nice., just worried they will not be the same in person.
Successful Trades: Swampboy,
Thanks
Successful Trades: Swampboy,
That is exactly their selling point, the pictures. They do have some key dates and relative rare coins but i would bet a dollar to a doughnut that if graded they would come back as a details coin.
Sounds like that big seller on Ebay.
Successful Trades: Swampboy,
Yep. If you want to be a big money seller take professional pictures and have a very detailed over hyped description. The reason they get away with it is because most buyers get the coins ,look at them and put them away thinking damn i got a great deal.

It is amazing many SEGS coins Key Dates has. Occasionally, you'll see something from NGC or PCGS. The marketing that goes along with the coins is somewhat entertaining for wiser collectors; I hope not too many get duped by it.

From their website:
"I do my best to estimate the grade/condition of the coins, but please note, unless specifically mentioned in the description, I do not guarantee grade or condition. I DO ALWAYS GUARANTEE 100% AUTHENTICITY, on an immediate buyback including any premium paid. But please understand, if you win a coin and receive it and send it out to one of the grading companies and it comes back graded less than I estimated or "genuine but Ungradeable", we will not buy back that coin. No refunds will be issued. "
WOW!!!
