A very blue day indeed for Big Blue Nation :'(:heartbreak:   You know, I remember years ago I was listening to one of Joe's interviews on YouTube and my wife (I kid you not!) thought he was a preacher man! I said this before a few years ago but they ought to rename Rupp Arena to Rupp Hall as a tribute to both of our legendary coaches.

As that Curtis Blow/Lil Bow Wow "Basketball" song would say, tell me were you in the joint, the night the Goose scored 41 points?

So long, Joe.

@Estil Thank you for sharing a little extra information. That is always helpful. I saw on his Wikipedia that he was once a Harlem Globetrotter, which is a very interesting nugget in my opinion.

@estil I was nine years old in 1985 and my college basketball fandom was peaking. I loved 80s and then 90s college basketball. I feel as though I was lucky to catch it on the tail end of greatness. Just my opinion. Anyway, in 1985 I was a huge Chris Mullin fan, and I know I was definitely watching this game. I think this was Coach Hall's last game at Kentucky.

I got to see the Globetrotters at Rupp Arena when Wayne Turner (who was on all three near-three-peat teams of 96-97-98) was on the team! Never really pictured Joe as the Globetrotter type.

Also I reckon Joe was the last surviving pre-1950 player.
