was rummaging through some crap tonight and stumbled across some old tickets

a light bulb went off in my head (which is typically an ominous sign) and i thought this might be a fun thread

and if you've got an anecdote to go along with your full or stubby ticket, even better

so, i went to Dallas to see MJ play back in '88. on this night he went for 39, 11 and 6 (yes i looked it up). but this particular game showcased the best combo pass & dunk i have ever seen in person. otherwise known as an alley-oop. to the surprise of no one, yes, MJ was involved. but to the surprise of many, no, he wasn't the one who rocked the rim. he got the dime.

i can close my eyes and still picture this in my head.

Jordan was spearheading a fast break and before he hit half court he unloaded a laser to Brad Sellers (an agile 7-footer) who was streaking to the hoop like a gazelle. the ball could not have been placed more perfectly -- about a foot above the rim. Sellers went up and got it, then put it down with authority. it was so sick.

@galaxy27 this one is for you

I shared this once before. My son and I drove up from NYC. We were so far behind that we just followed Monte and Payne and tortured Colin. After about 90 minutes the crowd noises increased in volume and frequency. The comeback was on. We tried to get to the 18th but it was too deep. We settled for 17 and had a birds eye view of Leonard rolling that putt in. Easily the loudest most exhilarating cheer I've ever been part of. The European contingent was not amused.

2014 American League Wild Card Game. I'll let others judge where it ranks on the list of greatest games ever played. I just know it was awesome to be there!

2014 American League ALDS Game 3. It will forever be known as Mike Trout's final playoff game.

Billy Butler stole a base. It was funny in the moment, and I still laugh every time I watch this gif and see the second baseman bail out.

    Here's another angle.

Then Lorenzo Cain finished stomping out whatever heart the Angels had left with these catches on back to back hitters.

And then, after already making the final out in Game 2 via a strikeout, Game 3 predictably ended with a repeat performance.

I don't have an image at hand of a ticket to a sports event I attended. Am I allowed to post an image of a ticket I own, to a sports event that I could not have possibly attended? 88 years old, kinda neat.

Wow! $3.30 seems like it may have been a lot of money in 1933 too!

I can't figure out why the high price, either. Maybe cause Penn was a top-drawer school. But I can't imagine that the stands were filled at that price.

I can't post pictures on my crummy little tablet and even if I could I wouldn't go through the hassle but......my favorite ticket stubs that I've kept over the years are from Dodger games.....long ago. Two of them....one is for an outfield bleacher seat....$1.25 !!!!!! The other is for an upper deck seat...$2.50 !!!!.......they are both from the 1965 season......KOUFAX!.......THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!!!

I just remembered! Another ticket that I've kept all these years is from a St. Louis Cardinals game in 1968.......My best friend and I were exploring America...... We got into a little disagreement with some locals at the Greyhound bus station in downtown St. Lou.....Long story short, we spent the night courtesy of the City....When they let us out of our "room" we wandered around town towards the Big Arch. When
we got to the arch, there was a ballgame going on in the stadium right there. It was the Dodgers!!!! We bought tickets......I don't remember much about the game (I had a really bad hang over) except that the Dodger 3rd. Baseman, Bob Bailey, made a great catch of a line drive and it was the first time I saw Astroturf.
    🍺 😵 👮 🤒 ⚾!!!

P.S. I remember something else about that game. The sky was overcast and it rained..... The weather was warm and it RAINED! ?!?!? That was the first time I ever experienced that.....warm weather.... Summer....and RAIN?!?!?!? It doesn't do that in SoCal....I thought it was really weird. 🌦 🤔

Yes, Later on in life I began traveling across the country on business. I couldn't believe the weather! ALL THE RAIN!! IN THE SUMMER!! The other thing that I was amazed at is that it was GREEN in the Summer and BROWN in the Winter once you cross the Rocky Mountains. Just the opposite in California. The hills are green in the Winter and brown in the Summer here. In California it only rains when it is cold (for us 60° is cold). Big country..... I love it!

That is not “Kinda Neat”. … It’s “Kinda AWESOME”

When I got this, I checked out Franklin Field and I think they still have this section in their stands.
