3/16" coin

In my grandmother's coin collection I've found a 3/16" 1914 Mercury dime in perfect, clear condition. Has anyone seen these tiny coins? Any idea where they came from?

Sorry, but they are only novelty items with limited collector interest. They are not from the mint
