How desirable is the 75 OPC PSA 9 Brett?

The OPC thread got me thinking, we know the 75 OPC Brett is significantly more rare in PSA 9 than the topps version. But...how desirable is it? if the Topps version is a 6K card right now, what is OPC? 4K? 5K?

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

When it comes to trends in collecting especially pop counts etc.... tides can turn. What you are essentially asking is when will the hobby recognize the scarcity OPC offers.... ~ all it takes is demand. The current trends in modern are manufactured rarity thru serial numbers and it is raging...at some point, to my way of thinking, modern collectors will gravitate to vintage and that same longing for rarity will win the day..... Shrewd collectors are gobbling up OPC as we speak but shhhh!....its a secret. The shear influx of collectors are turning collecting norms on its head.

The problem with the OPC is it is nearly impossible to get one with both the front and back centered. Have only scene one ever and it was in a BVG holder and seemed to be sheet cut. It was a BVG 10. My brother who’s favorite player is Brett regrets not purchasing it. The 10 that PSA shows on their site has a nicely centered back as well.

A 9 has not sold in a long time. It could go from anywhere between $2K and $10K in my opinion. Depends on if two collectors are looking for one or not. Think your guess is a pretty likely sales price. My bet is the next 9 that comes up will have a severely off-center back L-R.

Agree with this statement. My opinion is the card should be closer to $10k than $2k just due to the rarity alone. My Brett PSA 7 is pretty decently centered on the from but back centering is off T-B.

That is a really nice 7 - congrats on a great card.

Nice Brett. Is the back centering the reason for the 7? IMO, PSA is too tough on OPC corners. A lot of them just aren't square.

That 7 is undergraded, suspect the time it was graded the grader didn't understand OPC edges of how these come out of packs.

I agree it is better than the majority of 8s.

That card was graded about 20 years ago and is one of those cases where the card is undergraded vs overgraded from that era. Very nice card.

Thanks You Everybody! Maybe I should have taken the card out of the clamshell for everyone to get a better look but from what I can see they probably downgraded it because of the PD at the top of the back stating his info. I thought it was under graded when I bought it. I wanted a nice copy and I scooped it up regardless of the age of the flip.
