When did TPG's first start issuing non-standard ANA grades for coins

Since the ANA grading standards from the 70's did/does not recognize the circulated G6, F15, VF25, VF35 or AU53 grades, when did the TPG first begin to holder coins with these intermediate grades?

Also the ANA recognized several new MS grades in 1986. When did the TPG begin to use MS 61, 62, 64, etc?

Could the older holders been graded with these fewer grades available, or did PCGS and NGC start out with more grades to 'fill the gaps' & distinguish the differences that exist?
